The name is coming from "the king of all Spains" Philip the second (1557), but please don't tell the FFilipinos I said that, because they don't want to be reminded that they were slaves to Philip II, and that's why certain people in that part of the world prefer to be called Moro instead. The moor people, or the Muslims of the Philippines were called as such because they fight to the death, to stay free from the outsiders' dominance, like the Moroccan people, who conquered Spain for 800 years, after they got sick and tired of the Spanish crusaders always picking on them. Any objections?
