Margaret Calvert is a British graphic designer who is best known for her work on road signs in the United Kingdom. She co-designed many of the road signs used in the UK, including the iconic "Transport" typeface. Her designs have had a significant impact on road safety and wayfinding.

They started designing when margaret was a student at Chelsea College of art and jock was a part time teacher. Jock asked Margaret if she would help him, and together they invented the road signs that we use today.

UK road signage was designed by Richard Jock Kinnier and Margaret Calvert who were commissioned by the Anderson Committee to design motorway signage. After the signs were introduced and tested in Lancashire, the Worboys Committee commissioned Kinnier and Calvert to design signage for the entire UK road network.
