According to Stauer customer service, just pull on the two opposing jeweled knobs on each end of the pin that holds one end of the band to the watch. Grasp with pliers cushioned with a leather scrap or towel and pull the two pieces of the pin apart with simple brute force. Then repeat for the other end of the band. They say the pins can be re-used with the new band. I haven't done this myself, yet.
