Dress i layers. Let's assume u are not lost and just enjoying the scenery. First of all, stay away from things like Cotton, if there is snow, cotton holds onto moisture and cn cause hypothermia, even if there is not snow, do not wear cotton because of the possibility of sweating.
Wear multiple layes, that way u can undress if it becomes warm, you do not want to work up a sweat.
Wear sunglasses, especially if there is snow, and sun burns are also common in overcast conditions as well as clear, and when it is cold, snow burns can exist. so dress covered, use sunscreen and hats. Bring gloves, extra socks (wool not cotton) and warm shoes (like boots) even though mocasins are warm, modern apparel can be more convinient and appropriate for hiking and traveling in the snow.
Always pack a hand-warmer or two, and it is always smart to have a survival kit, like matches, some food (like trail mix or jerky), a first aid kit, water (it is very possible to become dehydrated in cold climates because people do not feel warm and actually forget to drink water, snow is not water!), it is also a good idea to bring a spare set of clothes in general. Water proof jackets are smart especially if it snows, and so are pants with water resistant outsides. DO NOT WEAR COTTON! Wool is the warmest and will dry the fastest, but synthetics are more preferred
