Litho cans, or lithographed cans, are metal containers that feature high-quality printed designs created using lithography, a printing process that transfers ink from a plate to the can's surface. This technique allows for vibrant colors and intricate graphics, making litho cans popular for packaging beverages, food, and other products. The process enhances branding and product visibility on store shelves, contributing to marketing appeal. Litho cans are typically made from aluminum or tinplate, ensuring durability and protection for the contents inside.

The litho portraits of Blue Boy are not rare nor are they valuable. Since the original painting is so well known and famous, many printers have made cheap lithos of the famous painting. The litho portraits are one of the easiest to find at yard sales for less than a couple of dollars. If they are found framed, the frame could be worth more than the litho. The 1809 in the left corner is positively not the true date the litho was made. Most likely it is an item number from the printer.
Litho is the Greek word for stone. Lithosphere means the solid part of the earth's surface.
