You can't fix it but you can replace the telescoping mechanism. Dockers does not offer replacements parts. I have the same problem with mine and when I took the handle apart I noticed that the top push-button piece was cracked. Therefore it doesn't provide the appropriate even pressure to move the buttons into the notches (holes). With much wiggling and expletives deleted, I am able to get the handle up but the frustration is extreme. Plus who wants to fuss with that when trying to maneuver luggage at the airport! This company (Ohio Travel Bag) has replacement handles.
