There are a few reasons!
- It's not cost effective. It's cheaper to bury waste than to launch it into space. This is the main reason.
- Many resources aren't renewable. If we go launching everything into space, we'll have less of it to use here on earth!
- It's actually worse for the environment. Rocket fuel and maintenance requires a lot of energy and toxic chemicals.
