The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is known for its good temperament with children, earning it the nickname ''Nanny Dog''. I would recommend buying a puppy so that it can grow up around children and learns how to behave around them. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are naturally loving Dogs with people, but you must make sure to supervise children when around any Dog (regardless of breed) and make sure that they know how to handle Dogs properly. As long as you do this, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier can be a child's best friend. My Stafford lives with four children under the age of 12 and she has always been 100% reliable with them.
This depends on whether the Dog is used to children, as although the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is noted for its love of children and has been nicknamed ''The Nanny Dog'', this does not mean that a Dog that hasn't been brought up with children will be reliable. It is always better to buy a young puppy so that it can grow up with the child and learn to be tolerant with children. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is generally very friendly and good with kids, but it would be unwise to expect a Dog that has had no experience with children to adapt to life with one. As a general rule, NEVER leave a Dog alone with children unattended, no matter what breed it is. Rather than introducing an adult dog to the baby, get a puppy so that it can learn how to behave with children. I have had my Staffordshire Bull Terrier since she was eleven weeks old and she has grown up with four kids, and as a result is very tolerant and friendly towards them.
This is not a very likely scenario as almost all Dogs make excellent mothers. Dogs will usually only kill their offspring if they are very sickly. This is not a normal behaviour in Dogs and a mum that has killed her offspring should not be bred from again. Possible reasons for cannibalism or killing of puppies are a behavioural abnormality in the mother or the mother having a calcium or nutrient deficiency. If looked after properly, a mother should not kill her puppies.
It really does depend on there personality so maybe you could maybe you could not
terriers have a lot of variances between breeds. some are short some are tall, some are energetic some are lazy, but by getting a dog with mixed breeding you get all of the good traits of the dog, and eliminate most of the bad. If you want to have a dog with papers, a rat terrier is a good choice. Its a newer breed, so inbreeding hasn't had an opportunity to take hold, and the dog is bred for its stoutness, and livability. They have very few health problems, are not overly energetic, and have good personalities. Their temperament is fairly neutral, so they are a good choice for being around kids, and their size makes them ideal for apartment/city life. they are loyal, easy to train, and not excessive yappers. They need a fair amount of exercise, but are content to just relax if you are. Oh, and by the way, they are cute as hell!!
not if you have small children, but okay with teenagers. they get jealous very easily, that is why no young kids. other than that perfect dog!!
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are generally good with children, known for their affectionate nature. However, like all dogs, individual temperament can vary, so proper socialization and training are important. Staffordshire Bull Terriers do not have a tendency to bite more often than other breeds when properly trained and cared for.
I dont want to get into it with all the pit bull owners but two vets now have told me that bull terriers have more bite force than pit bulls. This topic only came about as I lived in a country where an english bull terrier (and pit bulls ) were considered a potentially dangerous dog and you had to get a liscence to own one. I dont really give a fu ck because as a dog owner I go for character rather then how hard my dog can bite. And they did try to fight bull terriers againts pit bulls years ago but the bull terrier was no good in the pit as it lacked the killer instinct. And I own a bull terrier and have to say that they are the best breed of dog that I have ever owned as they are sooo loving and foolish. They make you laugh so much and are excellent with kids. Peace
yes he had one son
No
No, it is not.
It depends on the size of the family.Big...Golden retrieverHuskySmall...Toy PoodleMaltesethere are lots more of dog breeds.
They ain't dangerous.. It's the person that raises it that makes it dangerous, with the right owner, it's the perfect cuddle pig ;D Staffordshire Bullterriers were bred for dog-fighting, therefore they would have the tendency to be aggressive to other dogs, but it all depends on how you raise them. Staffies are great with people and especially with kids. They actually have the nickname of 'nanny dogs' because they are so placid around children. This is most likely due to them having a very high pain tolerance therefore children cannot hurt them that easily. But even though Staffies are usually seen to not be good with other dogs, if you socialise them from a young age with other dogs and supervise them when they interact with other dogs they can get along perfectly with other dogs. Usually it is not the breed that is dangerous but the way they are raised.
