This is a matter of opinion. The Beagle is a sturdy small dog that is athletic and makes an excellent family pet and companion. Its coat is also easy to groom and comes in striking colours. On the downside, the Beagle is one of the most stubborn Dog Breeds. It is easily distracted during training and may be slow to housebreak. It is also very vocal and bays, howls and barks loudly. Beagles also shed heavily, have a distinctive odor, and are prone to a number of health problems.
Overall, I do not recommend you to get a Beagle if you have no experience in training dogs.
