Yes my friends have two guinea pigs and they do fine.
Guinea pigs get on well with each other provided they are all of the same sex. Same-sex groups establish a hierarchy through fights, but once established, this hierarchy remains and is rarely challenged unless the group changes or is under stress from outside factors.
Multiple male guinea pigs do not get on with each other if females are present (or in smelling distance), as the males fight for dominance. This can lead to severe injury, sometimes even death.
One male can be combined with female Guinea pigs in terms of social harmony, but should be neutered to prevent rapid population growth. Guinea pigs are generally very fast breeders.
In general male guinea pigs are more aggressive than female guinea pigs, however, male guinea pigs also tend to be more outgoing and friendlier than females.
females are. I wouldn't recommend putting males in pairs though. They will fight.
they dont HAVE to have to be, but they are alot more happy that way!
Guinea pigs get lonely when they are left alone so like to be in a pair or a 3. Anymore and there is a high probability of them fighting. Females are generally more social but Males are just as sweet.
No!!!!!!!They are actually part of the rodent family.
No.
Male ones are better as there more friendlier.. however you can also cheak on google. =]
Guinea Pigs are a lot more favorable. Hamsters are true escape artists. They can easily escape any cage with wire walls or no ceiling. Guinea Pigs, on the other hand, just need more space, and almost never even attempt to escape. Guinea Pig cages can have no ceiling and wire walls, resulting in a much cheaper cage. Guinea Pigs also have a wider selection of breeds. So, even though they are both similar and most likely equally cute, I prefer Guinea Pigs. I hope this answers your question.
I have three
Guinea pigs typically have a longer lifespan (around 5-7 years), are more social animals that enjoy interaction with humans, and are generally larger in size, making them easier to handle than hamsters. Additionally, guinea pigs have distinct personalities and can learn to recognize their owners.
Not sure, but guinea pigs aren't type of pigs. They're in the rodents family, and NOT pigs. Hope this helped?
No. Gerbils produce gerbils and guinea pigs produce guinea pigs
