It all depends on the horse. Some are allergic to dust, some even to hay. There are, however, plants that are toxic to them. One major one is Black Walnut. Even the shavings (if they are just stood on) can kill a horse. I sugest doing to reseach on this, as there are a lot of poisonous plants. Most horses won't eat them unless they are really hungry or young.

Since your horse can't tell you in words you will have to pay close attention to non-verbal symptoms. If he has eaten something that has caused a reaction you may see swelling around the face, jowls and/or throatlatch area. He may drool, look lethargic or may be off his feed. If the irratent is external look for localized swelling, hives, itching, ect. If you are worried call your vet and ask for advice. Better safe than sorry.

Probably because of their fur. I did not write the first sentence. This fact is completely wrong. I will improve this answer by saying the next few sentences. Horses have hormones that do not react well with human hormones. People who are allergic may throw up, have diahhrea, or break out. By the way, I am only 10 years old so that is how smart I am. This first sentence is by someone is indecisive. I'm sorry if this is offensive to you, First-sentence writer.
