No. Dogs, no matter what their size, cannot have Ibuprofen! But they can have aspirin. The dosage of aspirin for dogs is between 10 -35 mg per kg of body weight every 8 - 12 hours. So if your dog weighs 90 pounds, that would be approximately 40 kilograms in weight. The dosage of aspirin for a dog that size would be between 400 mg to 1400 mg of aspirin.

Most aspirin comes in tablets of 325 mg, so I would advise starting out with the lowest recommended dosage, then increasing as needed if the lower dosage doesn't work. The highest allowable dosage would be the equivalent of approximately four 325 mg tablets, which should really be approved by your vet first.

I would also give the aspirin with food to prevent stomach upset since aspirin can affect a dog's stomach the same way it does ours. I would also recommend a buffered aspirin, just make sure there are no other ingredients in it, such as those for migraine headaches that have acetimophen (Tylenol) in them, too. You should never give your dog Tylenol.

The aspirin should not be given to your dog for an extended period of time without your vet's approval. So if your dog is not better in a few days, you need to take it to your vet for diagnosis and treatment.
