Baby rabbits shouldn't eat any fruit at all, including apples.

  • Once they're weaned, baby rabbits should eat a diet of unlimited alfalfa hay and high-quality pellets
  • Fresh leafy greens can be introduced in tiny portions at 12 weeks
  • Fruit and other vegetables (like carrot) can be introduced in tiny portions at 6 months
  • Between 7 and 12 months of age, rabbits should be slowly transitioned to an adult diet

Warning: Always make diet changes gradually with rabbits: even a switch to a healthier diet can make a rabbit very sick if not done properly. New foods should always be introduced one at a time and in small portions; rabbit owners should then observe their rabbit's health before increasing portions or introducing new foods (in particular, watch for signs of gas, mushy stool, and poisoning/Allergies.)
