Can cats get food poisoning

Sadly, yes. Cats can and have developed food Allergies due to being fed low-quality food that has ingredients that a cat's digestive system was never designed to handle.

Here is a small list of what labels to avoid that are known to cause food allergies in cats:

• Yellow Corn and Corn Gluten Meal, and Wheat Gluten are the most common causes of allergies in foods.
• Soybean meal is soy that is added to cat food for the protein benefit, but because its a plant it gives barely any nutritional value whatsoever. The possible allergic reaction to soy makes it an ingredient to avoid. Many cat foods have banned any soy product being used in the their foods.
• Animal Digest is a broth made from unspecified parts of animals. The animals used can be obtained from any source, so there is no control over quality or contamination. This can include roadkill, animals euthanized at shelters, restaurant and supermarket refuse. Cats do not develop food allergies from this, but any residue drug within the used animals can seriously harm a cat.

Also, stay away from labels that have food dye in them. These are: added color (red 40, yellow 5, blue 2, and other color).

Technically they can have hay fever. Besides that no. Things can bother their nose but that's about it.

im sorry to say this, but yes, my cat died of food poisoning by someone else! im sad still till this day! so um yes they can die! :'(
