No one likes to b held up in smal places. Can you imagine yourself in tiny place?? Then how can you imagine your pet doing that.. They like their hide out covered where they can feel safe but they do love to play so give them space to explore for themselves.
Guinea pigs are believed to have evolved from a group of rodents called cavies. These ancestral species lived in South America and gradually evolved into the domestic guinea pigs we see today through selective breeding by humans.
well i depends because my 16 guinea pigs Rome my backyard that is 2 acres which makes them happy so now they love and trust us. so if you have your Guinea pig locked up in a tiny cage they will most likely to hate you all there life and you are so cruel to them free poor guinea pigs so its your choice to make them proud or yourself!!!
I strongly recommend NOT to feed rabbits and guinea pigs citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes, tangerines, etc. These fruits will give the rabbit/guinea pig diarrhea. If you still want to give them mandarins, please give it in tiny amounts!:)
Guinea pigs typically have a longer lifespan (around 5-7 years), are more social animals that enjoy interaction with humans, and are generally larger in size, making them easier to handle than hamsters. Additionally, guinea pigs have distinct personalities and can learn to recognize their owners.
Most people say guinea pigs don't have tails... they actually do, but they're just tiny stubs. AND, a regular guinea pig doesn't have two tails, unless they're deformed or whatever... Hope this helped!
The name Guinea 'pig' comes from its latin form Cavia porcellus. Porcellus translates into 'little pig' in english, so that is how they have pig in their names. It is not known how they came up with the latin name, as they have no links with pigs
That's just about how big a female guinea pig gets. They may get a tiny bit bigger, but not by much My boy guinea pigs are a bit bigger. My friend's guinea pig which is a girl is small too.
I'm not sure guinea pigs have tails! Only Rats,Mice,Hamsters,Ferrets,And maybe Bunnies have tails. Not too sure if bunnies do though! Anyway..I'm positive that guinea pigs don't have tails and if yours or a friends guinea pig has a tail you might want to take the piggie to the vet immediatly or ASAP!Hope all goes well! Enjoy!:)
Guinea pigs itch because of Mites and Lice but mostly fleas, fleas, fleas and FLEAS!!! To get rid of these its best to give your guinea pig a bath in warm water with guinea pig shampoo from the pet store (if you don't have any- use some human shampoo put only just a tiny drop) Then (this is where you really have to go to the pet store no replacements) use mite, lice and Flea spray (or anything with one of those words in it!) and lightly spray over their coat. This defiantly helps! Then use a brush (any old one or small one or even a barbie doll brush!) and brush their coat. This always helps with my guinea pigs i hope it helps with yours!!! danielle (4evaguineapigs) =D
Guinea Pigs are cute because they are usually tiny, furry and love to play. They are also good with kids so that adds to the cuteness. They also like to run around in their cage and also make squealing noises.
Apple slices, carrots, a tiny bit of watermelon. My three guinea pigs love those. But just a small serving once a day, because they get really messy poops.
Look between the legs or at the rear to see if there are any testicles or not. With guinea pigs, you may have to feel around on their bellies to see if you can find the sheath where the penis comes from, as well as those tiny testicles. If there are none, then the pig or guinea pig is female.
