Yes, indeed, beavers have fur. Early settlers in the U.S. trapped beavers for their fur. Hats made from beaver pelts were all the rage in Europe and America in the early 1800's. This popularity led to a near-extinction of the European beaver and a sharp drop of the American beaver population at that time.
