Elephants use infrasonic waves because that way they can be heard miles away for multiple reasons. Some reasons such as a female telling guys that she is ready to mate, or to ask other elephants hows it going. I think we as humans will never really know what elephants say. But I hoped I helped.
it is fourteen feet long
Asian elephants usually have trunks that are 13 feet long, Indian elephants are usually 11 feet long
Elephants have a wide variety of noises, including trumpeting with their trunks, but also make low rumbling sounds with their vocal cords (not their "tummy") that are subsonic and can travel for miles through the ground (they're seismic"). The sounds can be heard by other, distant, elephants through their feet and trunks. These low frequency noises are called 'infrasound'.
Elephants can't ride to a airplane..but all can do that even a monkey or other animals...
they just simply stand on two feet and swing with their feet to hit there predators and with their trunk they just simply swing and hit there predator!
I'd say about 3/4 to 1 mile away.
Elephants do not hold their babies, but they guide them with their trunks and often give them shade and shelter under their bellies (which is also where the calves nurse). They also wrap their trunks around their mother's tails when walking as a herd.
They use their trunks to bring the food to their mouths. They use their trunks to bring the food to their mouths.
No. Elephants breathe air. They might swim underwater and use their trunks like snorkels to breathe air, but, that is the exception to the rule. Most elephants stay on land and never go more than a few feet into the water.
Sound is a vibration that passes through matter. Sound is capable of traveling through virtually any type of matter, although some types allow sound to travel further or faster. Rock, however, allows sound to travel much more quickly than air does. In fact, elephants communicate with each other from miles away by sending very low pitch rumbling sounds through their feet and into the ground, and then, using their feet, they can detect sounds coming from other elephants.
