Groundhogs, also known as woodchucks, are primarily found in the eastern United States and parts of Canada. They typically inhabit areas with plenty of vegetation and burrowing opportunities, such as fields and forests. While they are not native to California, some populations may exist in specific regions of the state, but they are not commonly found there. Overall, groundhogs are more prevalent in the northeastern and midwestern parts of the country.
There are no groundhogs in Ireland.
