If a rabbit is in extreme, sudden pain (like it was just caught by a predator), then it will probably scream. This sounds rather like a human scream.

If a rabbit is ongoing pain (like it's sick, or has an injury), then it might grind its teeth. This is not the same as the kind of tooth-grinding that sounds like a purr and means the rabbit is happy: it's louder and crunchier.

If a rabbit has a urinary infection or a bladder stone, it might cry out while urinating. This isn't as loud or scary as a scream, but any vocalisations the rabbit makes while urinating is a sign of pain.
