Yes, they most certainly do! I have had horses leave the farm for over a year and when they come back, immediately pick out their old buddies to start picking on. They also remember the people that they own as well. I was at a farm Sunday that had horses I cared for a few years back. They even remembered my truck. As I got out of the truck they started begging for food.
There is no doubt in my mind that they remember!
