It depends on the species.
The species of opossum which do have pouches are members of the genus Didelphis and the genus Philander. Both the male and female aquatic Chironectes, also known as the water opossum, or Yapok, also have watertight pouches,
The remainder of the opossums found in Central and South America have no pouch. The shrew opossums (Paucituberculata), for example, do not have pouches. The babies must cling to the nipple unprotected.
KANGARO AND KOALO this is a marsupial and some examples would be an opposum, kangaroo, and koala.
Marsupials in general have short gestation periods since the babies are born into the pouch at a rather underdeveloped state. I think the shortest animal gestation period if I remember correctly is that of the opposum, it's 12-13 days long.
if a opposum is hit by a car another opposum is likely to come along and eat it (and possibly get hit by a car) I don't know other natural predators
A baby opposum is called a joey.
