I was able to do this by taking a blanket or towel that had a familiar smell that the cat could be comfortable with, placed inside the carrier a few days before having to use it. You can also place the carrier near a hiding spot that the cat uses and the cat will eventually get comfortable with it being around. With all these things used together, the cat will eventually go in on its own and may not give you the scars otherwise. You can also lure it inside with treats or it's cat food dish. Other times, brute force is the only thing that works.
Cats may poop in their carrier when going to the vet due to stress or anxiety. The unfamiliar environment, sounds, and smells can trigger this behavior. It is a common reaction in cats when they feel scared or uncomfortable.

Take the cat to the vet. Or at least ring the vet for advice; there might be a simple solution.
You should watch your cat. Does your cat throw up? Do they not eat right? Some problems your cat has can be fixed by asking somebody in a local pet store. If it is a severe problem, you should try to see the vet as soon as possible.
