Firstly, you need to remove him from the current pack he has been hanging with. They are obviously bad dogs. Get rid of any Bunsen burners and cold medicine you have around the house. You may consider Fencing off your yard, and keep him on a leash when you go for walks. Spend some time with him, and make him realize there are much better things to be doing. Maybe you can get him interested in healthier things, like squeaky toys and peanut butter. Let him know that you love him, but if this continues, you have no choice but to send him away to strict training. Explain to him that following this path may eventually land him in the pound, and you may not be able to do anything to stop it. Try taking him on a visit to the pound. Seeing other dogs behind bars and forced to cohabitate with cats may wake him up a bit. No matter what, you have to be firm, consistent, and show tough love. Things will get better.
