you go to a hospital and check if you cant walk on it at all it is most likely fractured.
you trip over something with a umbrella in your hand. I should know because I have a fractured ankle right now.
Go to your doctor. I just studied this, and it really depends on how you sprained it. For all we know you could have tore your tendon, or a ligament. That's my advice for you.:)
You don't, and shouldn't. Any good doctor will know you are faking and send you on your way.
If you can't move it, and it's very swollen, it's probably broken. If you can move it, but it hurts every time someone touches it, or something rubs against it, its sprained.sprained is rare.... like... I didnt even know that it was possible. But Fractured, hurts like hell, and it makes ur finger turn colors
Do nothing people that sue others are found as the lowest scum in society its fine its only a sprained ankle as long as it wasent your fault you will be conpensated by your insurance
popsicles help sore throats because the cold helps reduce swelling. its the equivelent of putting an ice pack on sprained ankle.
that's not a question
Typical signs of a sprained ankle: Swelling, tenderness, difficulty putting pressure/ walking on it, difficulty moving it, pain, and bruising.Following R.I.C.E.: R = Rest (stay off it) I = Ice (for about 20-30 min typically to reduce swelling) C = compression (ace bandage, wrap, dressing) E = Elevate (elevate it above heart level for 48 hours - raise it up and put pillows or something to keep it up)Take medicine to reduce swelling (ibuprofen for example).See your doctor because it can be a very serious injury (broken or fractured ankle/foot bone can have similar symptoms to a sprained ankle). You may need a X-Ray or MRI depending on severity of injury.
The word 'sprain' means a joint injury in which some of the fibres of a supporting ligament are ruptured but the continuity of the ligament remains intact which is not the case in a torn ligament in which the ligament as a whole is torn due to injury. So, in a torn ligament case, the functions of structures that are held in position by that ligament are affected. But in sprained ankle there is no such damage done.
The standard test is called PAD - Pain, Abnormal mobility and Deformity. In fact, with an ankle it can be very difficult to know unless it's obviously bent in the wrong direction. Best thing to do if you suspect a fracture is to go to your closest A&E hospital (ED/ER depending on where you live).
Nobody know which ankle.
A broken ankle - is set in plaster and thus the joint is immobilised until it 's healed. A sprained ankle is a muscular injury - and even the slightest movement will be uncomfortable until the muscles heal themselves.
