If it uses the bathroom in the house then take it outside and tie it up for about an hour then bring it back in every 30 min to an hour you should take the dog outside and let it try and use the bathroom when it does use the bathroom outside then give it a treat. It will take a couple weeks but that is the most effective way. Under any circumstances do not hit or scold the dog it will actually do worse for it. Yes always works better than no.
