first, you braid its tail from the ending of the tail bone to the very end of the tail. then you grab the braid and put it inside the tail bag. after that, you grab the begining of the tail bag's ties and push the ties connected to it through the braid. then you just tie a knot and your done!

Can a horse swat flies with a tail that is braided?

Yes a horse can swat flys with a braided tail. They might get irritated or bruised though if they have a really thick or long tail. After braiding it, put it in a tail bag. If a horse keeps turning his head towards his braided tail, or takes to stomping his hind feet or pinning his ears, you need to unbraid the tail. Do not leave a tail braided for more than a couple days at most. Also, you can use "fly spray" on the horse while it is unable to perform it's natural swatting functions.

How do you make a tail wrap for my horse?

First wash your horses tail. Then braid their tail but loosly at the top and tight at the bottom. Then run the bottom of the braid through the top of the braid until it is in a ball then take some vet wrap and wrap it around the ball ( If you want your horse to still have a temporary tail to swat at the flys with get some hay string and run it through the ball of the hair). Now it is wraped. Also If you have a tail bag you can wrap their tail with it. Wash the tail. Then braid it ( It doesn't matter if the braid is tight or loose). Then take some vet wrap and wrap just a little bit of the tail say 5 or 6 inches away from the top of the braid. Then put the braid inside the tail bag and tie the tail bag trough the braid.

How do you stop a horse froom eating another horses tail?

You could try putting some stuff that tastes bad on the horses tail to discourage the other horse from eating the tail or put a plastic muzzle on him, but that would mean stopping him from grazing. EDIT - I agree. Some things I've heard of people using are tartar sauce, soy sauce, or hot sauce. On a scale of best working to least, i'd rate them: 1st: Hot sauce, 2nd: Tartar, 3rd: Soy

How do you get my horses tail to grow thicker and get her to stop scratching it?

First you'll have to stop the itching. Have your horse checked for worms and possibly dewormed. Then shampoo the tail with a horse shampoo and do not comb/brush it. Hand pick any tangles you find. After it is dry you can braid it and let it go like that or place it in a tail bag to protect it further. Only wash the tail once or twice a month or the hairs will dry out and break.
