You can say that any way you want, but the way I taught my dog is: "Shake". Some other ways that that you could use: paw, high five, or just simply "Give me your paw."

To train a dog to give paw, start by teaching them the "shake" command. Hold a treat in your hand and say "shake." When your dog lifts their paw to touch your hand, reward them with the treat. Repeat this process consistently until your dog understands the command. Be patient and use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior.

First, teach him to sit. Gently take hold of his paw while saying, "paw," or "shake." Choose the command that works best for you. While holding the paw, give him a treat. Repeat this several times until he is comfortable letting you hold his paw for 30 seconds or more. The next step is to get him to offer his paw instead of waiting for you to pick it up. Hold out your hand as if you are about to take his paw, and give his command. If he raises his paw, go ahead and take it and give him a reward. If he raises it and puts it in your hand, give him several treats in a row and lots of praise (this is called a "jackpot"). Eventually he will learn to put his paw in your hand when you give the command. It's easy to extend shaking to doing a "high five." Start with a dog who knows how to shake. Instead of giving your shake command, use a new one. I use "high five." Hold out your hand as if to shake, but instead of holding it palm up, hold it in the 'high five' position, but at the same height as you usually put your hand to shake. Odds are good he'll make a guess and put his paw on your hand. When he does, give lots of praise and a reward. Gradually raise your hand each time you do 'high five' and he'll learn to aim higher than he does with a shake.
I personally love this trick, because it makes me feel like me dog's a genuis. I call it shake, but I will change the words. Materials: A bag of treats. A room with no distractions. And a dog. 1. First, grab your dogs paw and lift it up. Saw "Paw" Say "Good Girl/boy" and give it a treat. 2. Repeat the first step several times. 3. After many times, hold out your hand and say "Paw" The dog will most likely put their paw in your hand. Say "good girl/boy" Give it a treat. If it doesn't, repeat step 1. 3. Once he does step three correctly, repeat about another 3 times. Congrats, he knows a new trick!
