You praise them whenever you see them sitting normally. You can also put the treat in a place (above their head) that makes them want to sit, then praise them.
Yes just teach it to sit. The quote "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." isn't fact based.
If you are wondering what the most popular command is that dogs are trained to do, then your answer would be, "sit". New puppy courses teach the "sit" command, and most owners require a dog to learn the command even if they did not get puppy training.
Play with her and pet her. And train her. I began to train my two six week pups to sit and come when they were called and they caught on fast!

your puppy should be three months when you take it to puppy school, at puppy school they learn simple skills like socialization skills an sit, heel etc. Though at six months your puppy can start training for shows. The general answer is at home you can start working with your puppy at about three months.
There are many different kinds of ways one can train their Yorkie puppy. Whenever the puppy does something good, give it a treat to know what it is doing is right. Be firm when trying to teach your dog to sit, it needs to understand who the master is.
You should start teaching your puppy tricks by 8 weeks old. I know, because I have an Ori Pei that is 11 weeks old, and we started teaching her at 8 weeks. Now, she knows sit and paw. For sit, you should tap their but, and if that does not work, push it down. But not to much to hurt the young pup. And you should give them treats when they do it. And also, you should praise them when they go to the bathroom outside. And by praising them you should say " Good Job". For Paw, you should take their paw and like sit, give them a treat! I hope this helped you make your puppy a whole lot better!
teach them how to walk and sit with him/her and then she may get more skills
say their name and sit that's all
I have a dachshund myself to train them its hard but fun! you HAVE to be aware of their spines though some dachshunds need operations to fix their spines but as long as your careful it will be fine some dachshunds are quick and easy to train but some just don't understand with a Young puppy don't train it until after a week since its been at home other than that you don't want to leave it to late or your dog just wont understand in the first week you have your new puppy toilet train it buy some puppy pee mats from a pet shop and then it should understand how to go after that week start taking outside in your garden then teach it to sit and stay I hope Ive helped!
it is really really easy, you have to sit them on the pad and leave them there for a while, sometimes the puppy might pee or poop where else, if they poop somewhere else yo pic up the poop, set it on the pad and let them sniff it, the puppy will know where to poop (might not work on all puppies)
just say in the mic sit
