Older ferrets will play just like a younger ferret. They usually do not show signs of any aging until their last few months. They will sleep more, probably eat less, but will play the same. It is important that you are very kind to your ferret the last few months [hopefully, you will have been kind to them their whole life], but you will feel, and the ferret will feel, happier if you treat them like you care.. Hope I answered your question! :D
A baby ferret requires a lot of attention and training, plus they are very active. An older ferret should already have training and not as active as they tend to sleep more. If you've never owned a ferret before, I would recommend getting an older, trained one. Bite and housetraining a ferret takes quite a bit of work and dedication and can be challenging for a first time ferret owner. You can find young ferrets up for adoption that have received the proper training from the shelter.
Each ferret has it's own individual personality, and with proper socialization and training they behave very well just like any other pets.
It depends on your lifestyle. A baby ferret will need to have lots of human attention to be properly socialized and correct training. An adopted older ferret should already be trained and not as hyper as a baby ferret.
Some ferrets, especially female ferrets will clean other ferrets ears
I think you have to be 14 or older. But I'm not sure. :P
What do you mean by "weird?" Ferrets have a pecking order, much like dogs. If you have multiple ferrets and you introduce a new one, the dominant ferret and the new ferret will likely "wrestle" for dominance. If you introduce a new ferret to an older ferret who is not used to having company in his cage then the older ferret just may reject the new ferret altogether. Or it may just take him a while to warm up to having a new playmate.
a ferret but get one as a baby not one that has been hunting and is slightly older because you could get bitten( but you could get bitten by a minks as well):)
The age of a ferret may be determined by the teeth, they start to become translucent at the tip of the canines, and as they get older, more of each tooth is translucent. But this may not always be true if the ferret was fed improper food or malnourished.
Yes you can but they normally have to be 6 weeks old to allow to go home. You can normally get them from a pet store or even a ferret shelter, but most ferret shelters only have older ferrets
From personal experience - young ferrets are too hyper for older ferrets. Advice from another contributor: Well that depends. Is the young ferret calm and quiet or hyper and loud. is it nice or mean? If the ferret is nice calm and quiet as long as the old ferret isn't mean they should get along fine. is you have a hyper ferret and an old ferret well it could work.
No girls behave better than girls because when girl's are young the are very good but when they get older they get off track but boys don't behave well when they are young but as they get older the behave better than they did.
It depends, usually about 100.00 US dollars per ferret, older ferrets may be less, as bonded ferrets that need to stay together may also be discounted.
