It depends on how many guinea pigs you have. It is recommended highly that you have at least two Guinea Pigs. The cages sold by stores are grossly under spaced. The real space two Guinea Pigs should get is minimum 7.5 sq feet, with the PREFERRED being 10.5 sq feet - generally 30'' by 50''. Three Guinea Pigs should have a space of minimum 10.5 sq feet and PREFERRED being 13 sq feet - generally 30'' by 62''. Four Guinea Pigs is minimum 13 sq feet, and PREFERRED is more than that - generally 30'' by 76''. Building a C&C (cube and coroplast) cage is the main option, so check the related link for spacing and instructions.
Be aware - always know the sexes of your piggies when pairing to avoid pregnancies.
A regular medium cage or luxury is large size. Always have entertaining things, too.
NO! NO! NO! my friend did that... lets just say there was blood and 2 dead guinea pigs when she woke up.
It's a little small, but guinea pigs don't actually need very much space. Two guinea pigs should be fine, as long as they are both females.
A cage should be big enough for the pet to stand up in. It should be long enough for the pet to turn around in. The normal size for a guinea pig is a cage that is 2 feet by 2 feet and a foot tall.
If i were you i would get a big cage so the guinea pig can run around Good luck with your piggie I have a big cage that holds 2 guinea pigs and they chase each other around the whole cage!!!
Try, but watch them closely. Many will fight.
if you want babies you put 2 girls in and 2 boys if you dont get four boys or four girls if you want babies you put 2 girls in and 2 boys if you dont get four boys or four girls
They need a minimum of 10.5 square feet for 2 guinea pigs.
You can definitely have 2 female guinea pigs in the same cage. Just be sure they are closer in age and get along well before housing them together.
It's best to keep them in the same cage for about a week. And you have to put them in the same cage together for about and hour each day after that for a while. I have 3 male guinea pigs at home and usually the guinea pig who came into the family or home first will try to show the other guinea pigs who is in charge (Or dominant). It usually takes about a week to two weeks for the guinea pigs to work it out and become great buddies.
2 guinea pigs = 2x5 c&c cage which is 30" by 62" a dwarf rabbit= 2x4 which is 30" by 50" so in total you should just make a 2x10 c&c cage feeding time may be difficult because they need different food. -kiley
NO! That is cruel and guinea pigs will get fungal infections and there coat will get yuck! You should use a different bedding because the bedding you use is not absobent.
