It all depends... Do you mean AKC registered? CKC registered? Pure bred? Also depends on where you live.

If you buy from and good breeder that watches for and breeds out genetic defects then expect to pay around $1500 or more depanding on the dog, but the are show dog quality. If you buy from a breeder with a health guaranty but not a show dog you are looking at $1000 or more. No guaranty but still a breeder or backyard breeder $400 or more. All these dogs will have papers.

A Yorkie with no papers or health guaranty $200 or more. A yorkie off of Craigslist or out of the paper there isn't even a guaranty it's a pure breed or healthy. Those dogs can be $75 and up. Be scared if the dog is over 4 months old. There is a reason they are getting rid of it and it will probably cost you alot in the long run either in retraining or in medical bills.

it depends on the seller and if it's pure bred or not.

i have a Yorkie and it cost £360 but it hadn't had it's first vaccination.

it's not just the cost of the dog you have to pay for the vet for flea treatment, worming, vaccinating and food and toys. beds, cages.

Make sure you have to think about those costs as well! :)
