According to the national Zoo, giraffes only sleep for about a half-hour a day. This time is typically broken up into about six, five-minute naps. They require less sleep than any other mammal.

The giraffe has one of the shortest sleep requirements of any mammal, which is between 10 minutes and two hours in a 24-hour period, averaging 1.9 hours per day.
