This depends on your dogs strength, age, fitness, and energy. Larger dogs with more stamina and strength can normally walk around a block with ease. Smaller dogs like terriers will walk for around a block and then get tired. My tip is just walk your dog until it gets tired and then survey it's actions in the next 24 hours. If too tired then reduce the amount of time ans if too active then increase it.

Puppies need a lot of walks to learn proper potty training habits. However, walks do not need to be long because puppies can physically overwhelm their growing bodies. Every two to four hours for a brief walk plus two longer walks per day is typical. Remember exercise isn't only physical. Mental learning will tire out a puppy too.
Labradors should be walked 5 minutes a day for every month old they are. More if they are more hyper, less if they are calmer. 60 minutes would be the minimum you should walk an adult Labrador, preferably more.
