when a mommy dog and a daddy dog love each other very very much .......well they make out

Another Answer:

It has been scientifically proven that dogs are descendants of wolves. It is theorized that since wolves and people are both socially oriented creatures, there was a basic groundwork laid for the development of a relationship between the two. In the beginning, wolves probably figured out that it was a good idea to hang around humans, as humans were efficient killers of meat, and there were probably many leftovers. Out of this closer relationship, humans probably selected wolves as pets that showed desirable traits, such as submission, and friendliness, and low aggression. Over thousands of years of such selective breeding we have come to have the wide variety of dogs that we do now. There is an experiment that has been going on for over 50 years in Russia with selective breeding of foxes in an attempt to show, in a much shorter time frame, how the selective breeding process would have naturally played out over those thousands of years bringing us from the wolf to the many different types of dogs we have today. If you would like to know more about this experiment, and the theories surrounding the evolution of dogs from wolves, then search the internet using the terms, "Institute of Cytology and Genetics at Novosibirsk Silver Fox."
