If a horse's ears are simply slanted backward they are usually "listening" to the rider; however if they are pinned to the head (you wouldn't even see them from a distance) the horse is angry.

i am great lover of horses and NO they do not flatten there ears when they are worried, but they do went hey are angry about another horse or creature. ALso horses can flatten ther ear to make them streamlined when gallopong i hope i have helped with your question
