Yes, Texas does not regulate possession of coyotes but why would any reasonable person wish to own one? Some towns and cities may forbid their possession, however.

of course NOT!why would they? wolves are prtected though. coyotes are not protected because they kill pets. they are vicous. coyotes are not mean if you dont bother then they do eat cats and dogs but that dont make them mean and vishios

That's not entirely true. Coyotes are not necessarily as vicious as people claim. They rarely attack people, and only when they've learned not to be scared of them because the stupid humans have been feeding them. All the coyotes I've run across are actuall quite timid. As for them attacking pets - they've had to adapt to the cities and towns, haven't they? Certainly, a cat or small dog would look like potential prey to a coyote -- or to your precious wolf if they could adapt to suburban areas. Not that I like it any more than you do when your pet ends up eaten, I'm just saying that they aren't as vicious as you say.

And they ARE protected in some states.
