Currently I have been looking after a pom. I have dog cat Allergies I have had the pom for a week now and was a badly affected when I got him but I am now starting to come through and my body not notice him being around. I have read many things saying that they are not good for allergies others say they are. With allergies it is all down to what affects u it could be saliva or their dander all dogs have dander and poms are said to release less dander. however they can shed alot of hair but this generally gets trapped in there under coat and will need brushing out so doesn't matt. My suggestion if u are thinking of getting a pom or any dog is to visit a breeder spend time with this breed you will soon know. However that been said for most people it takes a month to get used to the dog my brother was very by but after a month was fine with his do which is a collie. After looking after this pom I am thinking of keeping him so they can't be that bad as I used to really suffer. Unfortunately with allergies it is specific to the individual and the dog. I have found I am also ok with cockapoodle, poodles and chitzus. I have I find it's dogs which have less dander regardless of how much hair they shed. Hope this has helped alittle. But I couldn't confirm u will be ok with a pom. They are however dogs with slot of character.

Are poodle mixes hypoallergenic?

There is actually no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. Poodles do not shed, and this helps with allergies. It is still possible to be allergic to poodles, though. If the poodle is mixed with a shedding dog, the dog may shed. It just depends on what dog the poodle is bred with.

What kind of lab doesn't shed?

The only kind of lab that I think of that MIGHT not shed is a Labradoodle. This is a mix between a Labrador and a poodle. Poodle are hypoallergenic because they have hari instead of fur, so if a labradoodle has the poodle coat it might be hypoallergenic, but it would still shed.

Are pomeranians hypoallergenic?

It depends whether most of it's genes come from the poodle or the pomeranian. If it is more like the poodle than it will be more hypoallergenic than if it is more like the pomeranian side.

ARE Labrador hypoallergenic?

No, Labrador Retrievers shed a lot. If you happen to be allergic to dogs and wanted one that has a similar personality of the Labrador Retriever, I would highly recommend the Labradoodle - a Labrador and Poodle cross. These dogs had a Lab's friendly and obedient temperament and a Poodle's distinctive non-shedding coat. Labradoodles are hypoallergenic and they make excellent family pets.
