Outside of the realm of pets, rabbits are a good short-term food to humans. However, jackrabbits aren't rabbits: they're hares. Jackrabbits are wild animals, and they are not kept as pets, nor are they raised as meat animals. Their relationship to humans is that they're sometimes a pest animal (by raiding cultivated plant plots -- gardens, farms), and sometimes a meat animal (through hunting).
