The Scientific name for all breeds of Domestic cat is Felis catus.
There are varieties of cat breeds that are called 'blue' e.g. the Blue-Pointed Siamese but these are not what you would call a true blue colour. see the link I will post below.
A list of cat breeds includes the American short-hair, the Bengal, the Egyptian mau, the Maine coon, and the Bombay. Other cat breeds are the pixiebob, the Siamese, the Russian blue, and the Persian. Additional cat breeds are the American bobtail, the American wirehair, the balinese, and the British short-hair.
There are more than 5 cat breeds, but 5 can be the siamese, the manx, the bambino, the angora, and the russian blue.
Google for "cat breeds". There is thousands. Like Ragdoll and Persian for example.
Typically, the Persian looks more like a Siberian husky than other cat breeds. This is due to its blue eyes and fur that ranges from sold white to light brown.
It most likely that your cat passed the gene down(the gene must be recessive). It may be a breed of cat, like Russian Blue or a Blue Tabby. Also may want to check out cat color information:http://fanciers.com/other-faqs/colors.htmlInformantion on the Russian Blue Cat:http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/articles/russian.htmlhttp://www.russianblue.info/
Normally this would be a Siamese although breeds DO get crossed....
Brown cats usually come in tabby types. There can be dark brown, which is like a very dark orange, or a pale brown, which is a little like cream color, which is like the normal color of a Siamese cat. The only kind of cat that can have blue eyes are white cats. If there is a white cat with blue eyes, he/she can be blind, deaf or both. Siamese cats can also have blue eyes. Those are the only two breeds that Vicki and I, the vets, know of with blue eyes.
Among domestic breeds, Siamese, Angora, Persian, Assyrian, Bengal, Manx, Himalayan, domestic Shorthair, Maltese, Russian Blue..There are many other breeds..Check out Cat Fanciers Society website.
No dog is part cat although breeds like the Tibetan Spaniel may resemble a cat.
No. All breeds and species of cat are strict carnivores and get all their nutritional needs from meat. Sometimes a Russian blue will eat leaves or grass to help them digest their food.
