That is all you can do for it with out providing shelter. But above all, be sure not to take it to a shelter that euthanizes. Its kittens will be put down immediately and chances are the mother will be, too. There are no such things as "low-kill" shelters, despite what they may say. I would highly recommend bringing the cat to a rescue (also called a no-kill shelter) and turning it in. They can be trusted.
