You can get dog food for small dogs at the store. Pekingese have very sensitive stomaches so I would call your vet and ask which food is best. You may also consider the dog food that comes in cans. Remember not to change your dogs diet to quickly because it will make him or her sick. Owning a dog with a sensitive stomach means that you shouldn't feed it any food for humans.
I have a pekingese dog who is 10 and a half years old; I've had her since she was 5 weeks old (Ms. Bean). I have a good friend who has 5 pekes. I can tell you they do have sensitive stomachs and pretty sensitive skin. They really can't take heat or overheating. As far as food, they like fresh veggies and meats. From the reading I've done, they do best on fresh veggies. Mine doesn't like carrots, but she loves salad - go figure!! I give her Eukinuba brand dog food for toy dogs. It's a very good brand. She seems to like the food a lot and it's heavy on the veggies. They have different veggie/meat combinations That's been her staple, but I also give her, like a said salad, and other fresh foods. Sometime I give her a cooked egg, smushed up like you do for a baby, because the zinc in the egg yolk is good for dogs' coats. She loves it - that's usually Saturday or Sunday morning. For skin rashes and heat rashes I have this stuff made for hot spots. I picked it in the pet department of a store. [Sulfodene skin medication for dogs] It's a yellow fluid it has sulphur in it and heals up hot spots in a couple of days. To handle her coat shedding in the spring she gets a close shave at the groomer's and usually again in July and in September. She's fine after that until the next spring (usually around end of March). Pekingese dogs are really no trouble and they are wonderful little pets. Beanie has been on Sentinel once a month since she was 5 weeks old and doesn't have any major problems. For Allergies (yes, allergies - they have sensitive sinuses) use a dropper for get liquid children's Benadryl down. I used one dropper (about 1/2 tsp) when she was little (3 lbs) and now that she's older and 10 lbs. she gets 1.5 - 2 tsps. if she's having a rash or sinus troubles. But about the food, the Eukinuba is the best thing I've ever found. It's small pieces of dry doggie food, which keeps gums and teeth healthy. Soft food's okay as a treat or on occasion, but dry food is the way to go for good dental care. Anyway, good luck with your baby.
My pekingese dog has her period, What should i do to help her out.
Yes, all Pekingese dogs have a short muzzle, which makes them prone to breathing disorders.
China
I have a pekingeese and i have asthma nothin Eva happend
I have a pekingese and my boyfriend is allergic to dogs but he is not allergic to my dog. The are very clean dogs and the shedding is very minimal. If you need to reduce shedding even further you should get it groomed at least once a month. Also, if your dog happens to shed irregularly then you can use vitiman supplements and mix them in with their food. I've heard it works wonders with other dogs that shed a lot, and I'm sure the Pekingese is no different.
Because centuries ago, people in China and Japan use to carry them around in their sleeves for protection.
The breed of dogs can have up to five or six puppies because they are a small dog.
yes, but some might not seem interested, it all depends on personality
All dogs are mammals and reproduce by sexual means.
There where said to be 3 dogs who survived. But I do not know what breed the dogs where. Of the three dogs saved 2 were a Pomeranian & a Pekingese. As a Peke owner I'd not let go of mine either! :^)
How big does a pekingese get
The term "Pekingese" comes from "Peking," which is the name of a place in China. Just as with "Chinese," "Vietnamese," or "Japanese," the suffix "ese" was added to the end to describe someone or something from that region. As "Pekingese" dogs and people became more common in the English-speaking world, it earned its place in the dictionary.
