Most poachers do tend to go for the panda because of its smell and hair. The pungent fumes that come from the panda's paws and ears is like a mild form of LSD. The smell alone has caused many hallucinations and as lured many a hunter to his death. However, if the panda is actually caught, a thick bag must be placed over its body to prevent the stench reaching the poacher's ears, which could cause a fatal accident when he is driving off. Panda hair is also extremely valuable as it keeps growing once it is cut from the panda's own body. Many tribesmen in Northern Asia are seen to keep a lock of panda hair around their neck for good luck. Many of these tribesmen can be seen in pictures (taken by explorers) with big, great, bushy beards. This however is an illusion, as the panda hair around his neck has grown up over his chin. Once this has happened it cannot be removed, as the hair is so thick and it is a well known fact that not even the sharpest blade in the world can cut through it.
