do you mean a hoof pick?
if so it is a hooked tool, usually of metal, used to clean the hooves of a horse. Some designs include a small, very stiff brush for removing additional mud or dirt. All four feet of the horse need to be cleaned out before and after riding.
It can be used to brush the dirt out of the hoof. Sometimes, it's also used to brush the mud off of the outside of the hoof.
In order: hoof pick, curry comb, hard brush, soft brush.
you pick around the frog which it a triangle shape ( the sensitivity's part on the horses hoof ) and with the hoof brush you brush out your hoof :) You pick out the horses hooves to check for stones, bruises, if your horse wears shoes you check for loose shoes, and other things that could be hurting your horse.
u could but i wouldn't cause that is not what the soft brush is used for. Try using a hoof pick w/ a brush @ the end. The soft brush is used for "sweeping" dust and dirt off of the horses coat. (I'm a horselover!:-P) But you could, so long as you don't care if the soft brush gets dirty, the brush will not hurt your horse. (I'm also a horselover xD)
you use a hoof pick
I think you can clean with a soft brush but I would advise a "hoof" knife which is like a curved knife and I would personally use a hard briselled brush it is easier to clean. They are cleaned with a pick
To grease hooves, start by picking out the hooves to remove any dirt and debris. Then, apply a hoof conditioner or grease product to the entire hoof wall and sole, focusing on the frog and heel areas. Use a brush or cloth to evenly distribute the product and ensure it absorbs into the hoof. It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific product you are using.
