The best home for your guinea-pig would be a hutch with cover in the order of;

1. Newspaper
2. Wood shavings
3. A thin layer of straw
4. In the bedroom, a thin layer of bedding
5. Hay in two out of every four corners of the hutch

That would be a good home.
