Colon sigmoideum
The ilium is a large bone in your pelvis, the 'crest' of your hip. The Iliac fossa is the smooth internal surface of the ilium. It's the place that might hurt if you get constipation!
The iliac area of the abdomen is also referred to as the iliac fossa.
An iliac fossa cyst is a fluid-filled sac that forms in the iliac fossa, a region in the lower abdomen located near the pelvic bones. These cysts can arise from various causes, including developmental anomalies, infections, or complications from conditions like endometriosis. While many iliac fossa cysts are asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during imaging, some may cause pain or discomfort depending on their size and location. Treatment options vary based on symptoms and may include observation, drainage, or surgical intervention if necessary.

The iliac fossa region is located in the pelvic bone area, specifically on the inside surface of the ilium bone, which is one of the three bones that make up the hip bone. It is a shallow, bowl-shaped depression that serves as an attachment site for muscles and ligaments.
peri umbilical and appendix has the same spinal segment T10
The left ovary is located in the left lateral region of the abdominopelvic cavity, specifically in the left iliac fossa. It is situated within the pelvic cavity, posterior to the broad ligament and lateral to the uterus. The ovary lies near the lateral wall of the pelvis, typically above the level of the ischial spines.

On the left side, you have left iliac region. On the right side, you have right iliac region.
The pain of appendicitis is felt at the umbilicus. Appendix lies in right iliac fossa. So this is referred pain.
