What is the blood in my dogs feces caused by?

My dog, Zoey, is about 7-8 years old and is a 9 pound chihuahua. A few minutes ago I found some feces on the tile, normal stuff, but there was a bit of blood in it. How alarmed should I be? As for circumstances, she used to be living with my father, who to be honest isn't doing too well. While living with him she got hit by a car and broke + dislocated her left hind leg, we didn't find out until about 5 months later, now she's been with us for maybe 3 months. We recently started giving her these dental treats called "Greenies." Yes, we got the "teenie" 5-15 lbs ones. And to be even more cautious, we split the treat in two for her and our other dog. But im still wondering if this could have anything to do with the blood? Nothing else is out of the ordinary, just greenies and her messed up leg (we're working on getting it amputated). She also isn't showing any other red flags. No vomit, isolation, shedding, nothing.

My dog had blood in his stool before. It could be a number of things. Stress, parasites, diet, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, or rectal injury. I took a sample of the stool to my vet and they analyzed it. It turned out to be stress related. Cost me 35 bucks. The next time it happens take the dog to the vet. Also depends if the blood is bright red or dark in nature. If its bright red then the problem is on the back end. If its dark red then the blood was digested. But good luck and take care. RW
