My dog had blood in his stool before. It could be a number of things. Stress, parasites, diet, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, or rectal injury. I took a sample of the stool to my vet and they analyzed it. It turned out to be stress related. Cost me 35 bucks. The next time it happens take the dog to the vet. Also depends if the blood is bright red or dark in nature. If its bright red then the problem is on the back end. If its dark red then the blood was digested. But good luck and take care. RW
