They live in forests and clearing.
Grey Wolves' habitat can range between forests, mountains, and valleys. They live in places like Canada, Russia, Alaska, some of the northern United States, etc. But they like to live in the north overall.
The main habitat of the grey wolf is forest, but it can adapt to pretty much any habitat.

Historically, the Gray Wolf was once the world's most widely distributed mammal, living north of 15°N latitude in North America and 12°N in Eurasia. Though once abundant, the gray wolf inhabits a very small portion of its former range because of widespread destruction of its territory by human encroachment.
