The average weight of adult male cheetah is 45.6kg in Namibia with a range of 31-64kg, and of a female 37.2kg with a range of 26-51kg. This study was the largest so far and included a sample of 99 males and 38 females, and so should be considered valid for the subspecies jubatus which is found in southern Africa.

In Serengeti national park, the average weight for males is 41.4kg with a range of

28-51kg, and for females 35.9kg with a range of 21-43kg. This was the most extensive study of the subspecies raineyi and included 23 males and 19 females.

All other studies done on cheetah weight suffer from an extremly small sample of just a few individuals and therefore are not a true representative of the species' average size.
