Coyotes are smart so:

  • Start by not attracting them, no food source like animals, garbage etc
  • Then if you really have an issue start killing them and leave the carcass in your yard over night. They will quickly learn that this is a dangerous place and avoid it.
Things that are supposed to work but don't:
  • Scarecrow
  • Tassels that flap in the wind at Coyote head height
  • Most chemical deterrents

And if you really want them out a good tall fence that you repair and keep them from digging under.
