It really depends on what type of riding you are interested in. If you like western then you may want a stock-type horse such as a Quarter Horse, Paint, or Appaloosa, or a cross breed of one of these breeds. If you are an intermediate rider than find a Quarter Horse, ect that is appropriate for your riding level.

If you like huntseat or jumpers you have your choice of warmbloods, Thoroughbreds or some of the newer breeding Quarter Horses. They are very tall, have a lot of TB blood, but still have a pleasant termperment. But again, no matter the breed, the horse should match your riding level.

What horses do kinghts use?

Horses in the Middle Ages were rarely differentiated by breed, but rather by use. This led them to be described, for example, as "chargers" (war horses), "palfreys" (riding horses), cart horses or packhorses. Reference is also given to their place of origin, such as "Spanish horses," but whether this referred to one breed or several is unknown.

Are stallions harder to care for than geldings?

Stallions are harder to care for than a gelding or mare. When they see a mare in heat they will go crazy trying to um breed. I would only recommend a stallion to someone who has a lot of experience riding and care taking. I definetly would not recommend one for a child or teen (I'm a teen, but I have been studying and riding horses since I was very little.)
